Rice & Gardner provided bond program management to Galena Park Independent School District‘s 2016 Capital Improvement Bond Program with a budget of $290 million. Services include planning, design, and contract administration services to address aging facilities, student safety, and 21st-century education. The program includes the replacement of 6 elementary schools and a 10th Grade Center, a $70 million allotment to address facility deficiencies at all district campuses and support facilities, and $2.5 million for land acquisition to address future growth.

New Construction
Galena Park Elementary School
Scope: RGCI is providing project management services for the construction of a new elementary school replacing the existing 77-year-old facility. The entirely new 2-story, 97,915 SF facility will accommodate 750 students and contain 32 classrooms, a computer lab, a gym, and a learning resource center. New playgrounds, parking lots, and roads will also be constructed.
Jacinto City Elementary School
Scope: RGCI is providing project management services for the construction of a new elementary school replacing the existing 71-year-old facility. The new facility will accomodate 925 students.
Pyburn Elementary School
Scope: RGCI is providing project management services for the construction of a new elementary school replacing the existing 65-year-old facility. The new facility will accomodate 725 students.
Woodland Acres Elementary School
Scope: RGCI is providing project management services for the construction of a new elementary school replacing the existing 61-year-old facility. The new 2-story, 79,677 SF facility will accommodate 700 students and contain 33 classrooms, 2 computer labs, a gym, and a learning resource center. New playgrounds, parking lots, and roads will also be constructed.
Cloverleaf Elementary School
Scope: RGCI is providing project management services for the construction of a new elementary school replacing the existing 72-year-old facility. The new facility will accomodate 900 students.
North Shore Elementary School
Scope: RGCI is providing project management services for the construction of a new elementary school replacing the existing 54-year-old facility. The new 2-story, 133,438 SF facility will accommodate 1025 students and contain 54 classrooms, 3 computer labs, a gym, and a learning resource center. New playgrounds, parking lots, and roads will also be constructed.
North Shore Senior High School 10th Grade Center
Scope: RGCI is providing project management services for the construction of an 10th grade facility to supplement the existing senior high school. The new 2-story, 117,268 SF facility will accommodate 1,200 students and contain 31 classrooms, 8 science labs, 4 computer labs, a 400-seat gym, and a learning resource center. New playgrounds, parking lots, and roads will also be constructed.
RENOVATIONS
Scope: Rice & Gardner is providing project management services for the renovations to all of the following Galena Park ISD campuses and facilities. We will be addressing facility deficiencies, including but not limited to upgrading the existing roofing and building structures, adding additional classrooms and common spaces, ensuring compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, installing upgrades to safety and security systems, and replacing outdated equipment.
