RGCI served as the Commissioning Authority and MEP design engineer for the replacement of two existing 400-ton centrifugal chillers in the Tower 2 building which is a 179,000 square foot, 6-story commercial office building. Rice & Gardner provided recommendations, design, and a MEP construction document package for 2 new 280 ton magnetic bearing chillers with 1 smaller pony chiller. RGCI used the owners suggested equipment based on an energy model assessment completed in December of 2012, which accounts for the current use of the building. RGCI created and implemented the Building Commissioning Plan and Commissioning Process with a complete review of the pump and piping system.
